A Little Christmas-- Updated!

I have been pulled in, it's unavoidable.
I've seen all the wreath tutorials in blogland and I could resist no longer.
I fell in love with the all white wreath I saw over at The Nesting Place
LOVED IT!
So here is my take on it.
You need:
1. A wreath form
I think you could use foam, straw, etc. Anything will do.
I found mine at the Dollar Store.

2. The trusty glue gun
3. Coffee filters
I've seen some beautiful ones in blogland with brown filters too!
4. Optional ribbon/ flowers/ etc.

This is how I did the coffee filters.
There may be some more ingenious way out there......
But this worked for me

Separate your coffee filters.

I just stuck my finger in the center of the filter and gathered it.

Then I twisted/ flattened the end a bit so the hot glue had a good surface to adhere to.

Glue coffee filters to the wreath form.
Screaming expletives every few seconds, because..... Yes Brandy. Hot glue is indeed hot.
Sticking your finger in it will only result in disaster.
What's that saying????
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Clearly I am..................
Well I digress.
Anywho!

Work your way around the entire circle.
You can make it as loose as you want, just depends on how you want it to look.

I read on another blog that it was a "quick fun project done in under an hour"......
Uhmmmm yeah, not quick for Mrs. LoP
My OCD clearly dictated that I spend days on this packing the coffee filters in tightly. In all fairness a normal person could do it in much less time, clearly this is not me.
:-)

I trimmed mine up.  This is totally optional.
It looked fine before, I just can't leave well enough alone.
This trimming and eyeballing was a step that added another two hours to the project.
And thousand of tiny scraps all over the floor.
I think you could skip it and no one would notice......

Then I just added some ribbon with leaves and berries. The ribbon totally looks orange in this picture, but is in fact red.
When your finished you can text a picture of your new wreath to The Hubs at work.  You will be rewarded with a response that approximates closely to: "Is that a wreath? It's cute?"
For a project you spent days on and seared off your fingerprints for.
Boys are clueless, but I love him anyway.

I've seen these all over blogland as well and I've been wanting to make one for awhile now. Your's is beautiful w/ the ribbon and Holly... perfect for the Holidays. My question is how do you fold the coffee filters? Oh I'm your newest follower by the way. :)

I just kind of made a point in the middle of the filter and pulled it together. Not really folding it, kind of wadding them I guess. I'll try to get a picture of the it. Thanks for following!!

I Love it!!!! I have coffee filters and a wreath just waiting on me! Now if only I could find the time!
I am working on an invention to stop the burning of fingers with Hot Glue. When I figure it out then you can help me market it to make our first million!!!
