Anyone can sew a pillow

I'm a big fan of re-using/ repurposing.
So anyone can sew a pillow right?
Easy Peasy!
Take two old ugly pillows out the closet and re-use.
Pat myself on the back!!!
Because I'm making myself something new AND freeing up some  crap  storage space.

I thought I just be able to sew new covers and pop them in.
Didn't work out.
I had only some smallish pieces of fabric left from the Ottoman redo.

So working with what I had left from the ottoman I sewed up two smaller pillows.

Then spent the next 10 minutes  wrestling  turning them right side out.
Realizing that watching GH while I sew is not the smartest idea in the world.
Pillows are easy, but watching TV while doing it....
I sewed a bit too far, leaving the opening to turn the pillow a bit to small.
Hence all the wrestling (...and some cursing).

The really sad part of that.......
I did it twice.
Yep.
That's TWO times.
Obviously GH turns me into a slack-jawed, mouth breather.
Apparently rendering me incapable of multi-tasking.

I cut open the old pillows, since they were now the wrong size.
Stuffed my new pillows through the too small opening.
(with a bit more cursing)

And!

CA-UUUTE!!!

Pillows to match that revamped ottoman
And, they were free!! Since I used scraps.
Happy Friday!

Very cute even if it did take some curse words lol. I got the stuff to redo the pillows on my couch, just have to sit down and do them lol.

Hi Brandy! Saw you over at Amanda's Serenity Now and wanted to stop by your blog! I love the pillows & the fabric- I'm not much of a sewer, but I'd love to try these... maybe with Stitch Witch for the sewing impaired? :) Just became a follower of yours. I also have a diy, decorating, cooking, etc blog - I'd love for you to stop by at: http://nestdecorator.blogspot.com

I popped over from Amanda's to say hi! Your pillows really pop with the ottoman. Seriously, I am jealous because the sewing fairy never stopped at my house and I am sadly sewless. I love, love, love fabric and keeps saying I am going to learn...see, there I said it again! Hope you will come by and hellow at www.SouthernSomedays.com

Happy Wednesday!

Hi, Brandy. :) I LOVE the fabric you used for your ottoman and pillows. So fun and pretty! I have actually never made a pillow cover...gasp! It's on my list though. ;)

I wanted to address your comment b/c I can very much agree with both sides of the button/link-back/visiting argument.

As someone who links up to one or two blog parties each week, it IS really discouraging to follow the rules, link back or include the party button and then not receive any visits or even a comment from the hostess. On the OTHER side of the argument...I host a weekly party; I visit each link and comment on each one, and 90% of the bloggers who join the party don't bother to link back to me or include my button. I'm someone who would be fine with either one, as I am really trying to grow the party and my blog. But it's impossible to grow a party when no one knows you're hosting one. :( It's a lot of work to get the post together, plug the party, visit the links, etc. etc. Over the past year or two, linking back (and commenting/returning visits!) has really gone by the wayside when it started out as basic blogging etiquette.

Sorry to ramble...just thought I'd let you know I understand where you're coming from. :)

Thanks so much for joining my "Bliss-at-Home" project today! Hope you'll stop by Serenity Now again soon.

Hi Brandy! I'm coming over from Amanda's and I LOVE those pillows! And the Ottoman...the fabric is so freakin' cute!

But I must disagree that ANYONE can sew a pillow - I canNOT sew to save my life. I just can't seem to get the hang of it!

But I love looking at the great sewing projects of others!

Hi Brandy,
Thanks for visiting my blog, and I'm so sorry to hear of your sister's brain injury. It makes my heart hurt when I learn of another who has suffered a brain injury. It's the most unfair of all injuries, I feel, because the person is never left quite the same, always altered in some way. I remember people always asking me "when will she recover?" (regarding my daughter) and I kept trying to explain that she will always be recovering. It's not like a broken bone, afterall. People don't understand, though..and how could they? I certainly didn't, not until I entered the world of TBI with my daughter.

I am glad you got to read our story about our daughter. I'm sorry that it's not complete - I have a lot to say, and it just takes time to write it all out. I try to add to it bit by bit here and there when I can find the time to be alone in my thoughts (doesn't happen much around this house, let me tell you!)

Love your blog! I'll be back :)
